BOOM - August 22, 2008

Plenty of people like to yell "Freebird" when they see a band. How many light a half-stick of dynamite? One Foot In fans do!

Coffee Cups! - February 27, 2008

Yesterday, I drank coffee from this ceramic vessel with an ear-like handle on it. Apparently, it was a "coffee cup." I just hadn't seen one since I used my typewiter, All I see now are paper cups with an extra protective cardboard layer. I also see sleek metal cups with various types of black lids. Some people, who obviously hate the environment, use styrofoam cups from lesser coffee joints like 7-11. (me) I felt very cool, even old-school, using the traditional coffee cup. There, I used "old-school" in a sentence!

Finishing Up 'Summertime" - January 5, 2008

When I played with Bell-X out in Philly, my favorite song the band wrote was SUMMERTIME. The lyrics made perfect sense if you were there when they were written at the Jersey shore - at 2AM. Twenty years later, I am on my 3rd re-write and 2nd Demo of the song. The non-band, One Foot In, has helped me finish recording the tracks to the latest version of the song. Soon, Mike Grasse will have a new mix for us to share with all of you who enjoyed the previous versions of SUMMERTIME.

LaGrange Theater Comedy Gig - November 17, 2007

My first observation while performing stand-up comedy in a movie theater: In a bar, popcorn is free. In a movie theater, popcorn costs more per ounce than drugs imported from South America.

More to come... - June 16, 2007

In early June, many of the One Foot In crew got together to hear the lates original song, "Fool In The Red Dress." It was supposed to be an opportunity to hear a few ideas and write some more music. After a few hours, however, several tracks were recorded. Check back soon, as a completed DEMO is just around the corner!

FUMC - April 24, 2007

Also added to the PHOTOS link are several pictures from the recording session in March. With the help of Grassroots Sounds, a violin and acoustic Bass track was recorded for the remake of the song "In The Theater." The session was held within the incredible acoustic walls of the sanctuary inside the FUMC Church in LaGrange, Illinois.

Oops . Open MIKE! - August 30, 2006

Oops. So we thought we were going to an Open Mic night at Palmer's in LaGrange. It ends up we were going to an "Open Mike" night. It was a promo night for Mike's Hard Lemonade sponsored by WCKG and hosted by radio personality Wendy Snyder. See? "Open a bottle of Mike" night.
Once Wendy found out we brought guitars and such, she had us on stage playing tunes in the incredible beer garden. The highlight was when she sang These Boots Are Made For Walkin' with us. The odds of us knowing the only song she would sing made for a laugh.

A Sunday Smash - July 6, 2006

Only at the Gallery Cabaret (on Sunday, July 2nd) could we be joined by Lydia. A nice man, woman, no - man (or woman) who did free-form ballet in front of the stage.

We also had a fan download one of our songs from iTUNES while at the club.

Coming in August at a date to be determined, we will be the featured act at the Ballydoyle. Check back soon for details.

Musical Friends - June 9, 2006

On Thursday, June 8th, we were joined by "Mike and Allison" at the Gallery Cabaret. It was a great set in a great place. We also witnessed the debut of "J-Canon" featuring Mike J, Gary, and Winkler. What really made the music special was the tambourine and shaker stylings of Andrew Duerkop! Good luck Andy on your upcoming solo tour.

Soon, we hope to share the stage with "The Cunninghams" and Paul Frisbie. Keep an eye on the Calendar link as well as the Photo Gallery link.

Visit the Gallery Cabaret - May 30, 2006

On Thursday, May 25th, One Foot In visited the Gallery Cabaret for the first time. Pete, Mike, Jennifer and Gary were a welcomed addition to their open mic tradition. We were joined by Mali, an incredible Djembe player.

We plan to play often on either Wednesdays, Thursdays or Sundays. Keep an eye on the Calendar Dates link.

CD Release a success - May 8, 2006

(e) G Wheaton's CD release was a great success. Watch for pictures to be posted soon.

Paul Frisbie as well as The Cunninghams provieded some great music on stage for everyone.

Bass parts for (e) G Wheaton were provided by Peter Eriksson and Ryan Asmussen. This was Ryan's second appearance ever as a bassist.

Joanna Justice, writer of the song "Summertime", was in from Philadelphia to play and run the sound.

Thanks to Senese's Restaurant and Barrell of Laughs Comedy Club for the stage and great service. Great food, too!
